ACCOMPANIST + ARRANGER
Basil Richmond was born in Malaysia and started piano lessons at the age of seven under the terrifying tutelage of Madame Chin whilst a pupil at Uplands School in Penang. Happily he survived this (where many didn’t, it seems...) to continue his studies in England, where he studied in London under Benjamin Kaplan, gaining his piano-teaching certificate from the Royal Academy of Music.
Since then he has taught, accompanied, arranged and composed music over the years and has also had a great interest in the restoration of historical pianos and their performance.
It is, however, as an accompanist that he feels most truly at home and he has been accompanying and arranging for Resound for several years now.
